Free Shipping and Personalized Bracelets

I am marooned at home today recovering from an appendectomy. It has been a hard lesson for me on learning to slow down a little bit and letting my body recover. I have been pushing the limits lately and am feeling the consequences in my body. So I thought it would be a good day to update the shop and spend some time online.

I have some new products in the shop right now. I started doing custom engraved bracelets with Kids' drawings and names. I take their very own drawing and transfer them onto flattened spoon bowls with a hand engraver. The effect is really cute and those little treasure drawings last forever!

I also have a free shipping promo going on in the shop right now until the 5th of June.

A blessing a day

My life has taken an exciting turn. Girl Ran Away With the Spoon has really hit the ground running! I started doing parties where people host me in their homes. It has really taken off. I meet so many amazing people. I am thinking it may be time to cut the jobs from 3 to 2! Although I don't think I can decide what not to do. I love them all but Girl Ran Away With the Spoon has really taken the lead.

It is hard to believe April is here and my little baby will be 2 on the 29th of this month! Oh how time flies. I am preparing easter baskets and a bug theme birthday party.

We are having a lovely April shower on this first day of April.

I have some new exciting products in store. I have gotten lots of custom orders for hand engraved bracelets and got a great idea from one of my customers about using her kids' drawings and hand writing on an engraved bracelet. I will posting a listing on etsy where you can see samples.

Well all for now.. back to work I go!

Wrapping up 2009

It has been a whirl wind the last few weeks. I just finished up with my last show of the season and dropped my remaing inventory at our local Christmas Craft Store that will be open through Christmas. It has been my most productive year with Girl Ran Away With the Spoon to date and my head is still spinning. I am excited for the new year to roll out new and exciting products and to perfect the old ones.

I am so blessed to be able to be doing what I love. Yes, it is a LOT of work but it is so worth it. I enjoy every process from design, production, construction, packaging, advertising, marketing, selling, etc... Hoo~thats a lot of hats to wear!

I am going to take the few reaming weeks of this year to really decide what direction I want to go with this business. I would like to expand my line, do better advertising, more shows, and some wholesale. My brain is on over drive trying to keep it all in line. So far I have been able to maintain my "other" jobs with out too much neglect. The graphic design has had a successful year as well and my secretarial job is a good way to settle my mind a bit.

My son is growing and changing before my eyes. He will be 2 years old this coming April and I can't belieive how much he has changed. My husband is a very patient partner when it comes to all my crafting madness and his support means the world to me. I am blessed...

Not my favorite way to spend the day...

It is 11:00 am I have been sitting at our local Senior Citizens Center since 9:30 waiting to meet with the Social Security Office so I can get my name changed. Ugh... We don't have our own office here in Miles City so once a month someone from Billings comes down to take care of everyone. I am 12th in line and starting to go a bit crazy!

I have been working away in the studio on some fun new projects. I have for sale in the etsy shop some new headbands made from recyled vintage bottle caps and buttons. They can also be work as funky necklaces. See an example here
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33550347.

I have had many requests for earrings and have finally answered the call. I will be rolling out the new earring line here in the next few days.

Wedding bells have rung!

Well it is official...I am now Mrs. Daniel Thormodsgard. We had our wedding on Saturday Aug. 22nd at Puping Plant Park here in Miles City. I can't even begin to tell you what a perfect day it turned out to be. After months of planning it went off with out a hitch. The day started out with a few good luck rain drops and then proceeded to warm up I think it got up around 95 or so. Which isn't so bad when they were predicting 100.

I made almost everything for the wedding; flowers, boutineers, favors, cake topper, invitations, etc... So I was very glad that it all came together. I am still waiting on pics from the photographer-She took over 1,200! We even went to the fair and got some on the ferris wheel! I will post a few now and more when I get the professional ones.
I will let the picutres speak for themselves.

Aside from the wedding I have been in a strange transisiton mode. It feels a bit awkward no longer having wedding things to deal with so I have turned my focus back on The Girl Ran Away With the Spoon. I have been registering for craft fairs, drawing up new products, and making things like a factory! It feels so good to have some direction again. A few events coming up:

October 10th~ Harvest Fest Billings, MT
October 24th~ Intro to new line show, Miles City, MT

November 21,22~ Food & Gift Show, Billings MT
November 26,27~Miles City Craft Bazaar, Miles City Centra

December 6,7~ Wesleyan Women Craft Fair, Gillette, WY
